Today for reading we had to find out what these gemstones mean, how they are made, where you can find them, and if you can make them.  The gemstones are Topazs, Amethust, Diamond, Emerald, Lapis - Lazuh and Opal.  I had to choose one of these gems.  I found out that 95% of Opals come from Australia.  Hope you enjoy.

Kiwi Kids News Quiz

I have done the Super Quiz for the Term. I have scored 24 points. I have also scored 80% out of 100%. I think I have scored 24 points because sometimes I forget to watch the news. I could have scored more if I have talked to my family about what's happening in the world! Next time I will try to score a much higher score!

Today for reading I did a active called Robot Challenge. We had to create a go animate and imagine that we had a robot and what we got up to. Recount with a twist

It was early morning and my family and I were getting ready to go to my cousin Sabrina’s birthday, she was turning 21 (even though she is 22, we were reliving her birthday because she missed it last year. Somehow 21st birthdays are really important). So as we made our way to the stadium, my heart was jumping with excitement wondering what Sabrina look like and how happy she would be.  When we arrived as we waited for everyone to turn up I saw for a long time that my dad was so happy I’d haven’t seen that face for a long long time and when I mean long time I mean long time anyway back to the story. When Sabrina showed up she was wearing a beautiful long white dress with heart stitching. As the day went on and night came then out of nowhere the cake rose up and started to walk toward Sabrina she was still really shocked and just about where the lino ended was the cake dripping starring Sabrina straight in the eye, just when the cake was about to jump at Sabrina out came a knight in armor out of nowhere really. They fought throughout the night but of course the cake was defeated like they say if you can’t beat them, eat them and i have to say myself it was really tasty.

If I could go anywhere in the world

If I could go anywhere in the world I would go to Dubai.  Because I’m close to my dad and I have a lot of friends and my dad loves it there.  Schools are also very good so I could go to school and have a lot of fun.  The reason that I would move to Dubai because i’m close to family it makes my dad happy and there are a lot of jobs that I can get.  The weather is also very nice there it’s mostly just sunny and the best thing is that the world 7s is there as well so we could dive there and we’ll get to see a lot of our neighbours there as well.

Lioingo

This animal is a mammal.  The Lioingo (the animals name) weighs in between 50 - 100 kgs, its height is 1 ½ meters tall and 50 cms across.  This mammal has flamingo legs, monkey arms, wolfs tail and a lions mane.

The Lioingo is a omnivore ( eats plants and meat ) It fest on plants and fruits that fall from the tree tops, as well as small rodents.

The Lioingo lives in a moist environment like forest in Asia for instance.  It has evolved to live in different environment how does it do this? well it is a mix of bird and mammal so with the help of its monkey like arms it is able to swing from vine to vine thats how its able to swing from vine to vine in the forest.  

The reason why the Lioingo has a mane is to scare away predators that are trying to eat it, or kill it for territory and its one of the most rare and endangered animals in the world!

 This week I was learning about coral reefs and how engendered they were.  Here are 5 facts that I found out.

• Coral reefs are mostly called "the forest of the sea"
• Most of the beautiful coral we know now is said they will disappear.
• Coral reefs are actually not rocks like everyone thought they were but they are live and breathing creatures.
• scientist are trying to find a satiation to solve the disappearing coral reefs
• Hundreds of different types of fish and other creatures
